THE EFFECT OF uv LIGHT ON YOUR EYES

UV Light

UV light is produced by high temperature sources such as sun, high intensity filament lamps and gaseous discharge tubes. It is considered to be more hazardous to our ocular systems than visible light and is subdivided into UVA, UVB and UVC rays.

The UVA and UVB are the most troublesome light rays for our ocular system as they can cause degenerative conditions in the cornea, crystalline lens and the retina. As well as causing potential harm to the eye lids and other orbital tissue.

However, it is now very simple and actively encouraged for us to offer protection from harmful UV radiation in your everyday spectacles and that is why all of  our lenses are 100% UVA and UVB protected at no extra cost.
